Guardian 2009 about Stafordshire
The folded cross is one of the most interesting artefacts found in Starfordshire. The reason for the cross to be folded is probably because agriculture tools have been pushing it down into the ground, but also it could be a sign of defeat for the army in battle at this Time. The action of folding a symbol was considered a end of battle and done by victorious side.
